The Ministry of Health (MOH) represented by North Al Khuwair Health Center conducted today Wednesday a training workshop on Chronic Diseases Management at the Walyi of Bushar Office’s Conference Hall. The workshop targeted the medical staff working in the primary healthcare centers and included around 80 participants from Muscat Government.

The two-day workshop aimed at acquiring the participants with the latest updates and information in the chronic diseases with regard to their causes, complications, and treatment and prevention methods. It addressed the most common chronic diseases in the Sultanate.

Lectures highlighted Diabetes Mellitus (DM); its diagnosis, complications, medications, and treatment. Moreover, the topic of chronic kidney disease was elaborated and the participants were able to manage its different related problems.  The workshop touched on Nicotine Dependence treatment and Dyslipidemia.

The workshop will further underline other chronic diseases such as hypertension, asthma, endocrine diseases, and heart failure; emphasizing on nutrition as one way of their treatment.
