As part of the efforts exerted to upgrade the readiness of the Sultanate to address the tropical condition (Kyarr), the sub-sectorial committees of the Ministry of Health (MOH) in South Al-Sharqiah, Al-Wusta and Dhofar took the necessary precautionary measures to increase the efficiency of the response.

In South Al-Sharqiah, the main committee of the Directorate General of the Health Services in the Governorate as well the operation management room have been activated until the end of the tropical condition.

Masirah Hospital will continue running providing the basic health services. In addition, all health institutions in the Governorate have worked to provide the main services, medications, medical instruments and oxygen. 

In Al-Wusta and Dhofar, the main committee of the Directorate General of the Health Services along with the operation management room in both Governorates have been activated until the end of the tropical condition. Moreover, coordination with the Governorates sub-committees’ heads has been made along with the sectors in the Civil Defence Sun-committee to ensure preparedness plan procedures.

The Governorates of Muscat, North Al Sharqiah, Al Batinah North and South have provided all available resources to support preparedness exercise and increase the efficiency of the medical response.
